FAQ

Are any of Audie Murphy's immediate family still alive?
His younger sister Nadine and his two sons are still living. The Museum respects the privacy of the family and does not give out any contact information for them. There is an email address available through the Audie Murphy Research Foundation website.
Can the museum appraise an object?
No, as a non-profit institution, the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum is prohibited from providing appraisals. If you are looking for a monetary evaluation of an object for insurance or other purposes, contact a professional appraiser in your area. Many auction houses and independent antiques dealers offer appraisal services. Member associations such as those listed below can also refer you to specialists by region.

I am doing a school report on Audie Murphy or cotton - can you help?
While we will not do your homework for you we can mail some basic information out to you. We highly recommend visiting the Museum to get a more thorough understanding of both Audie and the history of cotton. We do also have available for purchase several books about Audie and a 10 minute brief biography of his life. If a day and time is arranged in advance a staff member can also be available to be interviewed.
Can you mail me samples of cotton?
Unfortunately, our cotton crop is not significant enough to be able to give them away for free. However, there are cotton bolls available for purchase in the gift shop.
Is the "sign" on display?
No, the sign is in storage and is not available for viewing.
How long does it take to go through the museum?
On average it takes approximately 1 hour to go through the museum. For those visitors who enjoy reading all of the information in each exhibit plan to spend 2-3 hours.
